Migration history

From the academic year 2003/ 2004 migration history has become compulsary for all students taking History at the Stavanger University College (Historie årsstudium). It is also offered as a major area of study ( fordypningsemne) in a bachelor program.  

This study was part of the Migrasjonsprosjektet i Rogaland, a collaboration between the Stavanger University College and the Norwegian Emigration Center established in 1999. It was an intermediate history course specializing in European migration history. Odd S. Lovoll, now retired King Olav V Professor of Scandinavian - American Studies at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, played a major role in accomplishing this study.
